Board Of Directors

Board of Directors / 2018-19

Margaret Drugay, President

A Chicago native, I've  been in Tucson for over 20 years, in Peter Howell for over 10 years, after moving from the Foothills. I received a doctorate in nursing and had a long career in health care, retiring in 2006. I spend my time volunteering with the American Cancer Society, and have done other volunteer work in India, Africa and China. Clearly I love travel! I'm also a foodie and love going to the great restaurants we have in Tucson. I live on 6th St.

Oweta "Cookie" Josleyn, Vice President

I have been a Peter Howell resident for 20 years, moving to Texas Circle when my son, Steve, was eight. I raised him in this home and am now helping to raise my 9-year-old grandson here.  My work history includes being a professional interior designer, a fair housing outreach director specializing in  accessibility compliance and marketing for residential builders and commercial general contractors.  I earned a BS degree in Interior Design from the U of A as well as a graduate Certificate in Gerontology.

My interests include landscaping, gardening, rainwater harvesting, volunteering at Howell Elem., creating wreathes, making corn husk flowers, painting decorative graphic designs, readìng smart mysteries, making cheesecakes, watching almost any Masterpiece Theater production and Ken Burns' documentaries, listening to NPR, Clapton, Knopler, Etheridge (secret pleasure listening: Dixie Chicks and Streisand!), and decorating for the holidays. I retired a year ago ... these days you'll find me at the Irving and 5th crosswalk weekday mornings and afternoons guiding the school kids safely across.

Paige Ricks, Secretary

I am a 5th generation Arizonan. I grew up in the Phoenix area but fell in love with Tucson when I came here for school. My husband and I decided that we want to raise our family here. We have resided in the Peter Howell neighborhood since 2015 and have loved this tight-knit community.

I graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in Psychology and was a social worker for a number of years, specializing in adult mental health care, child welfare, and juvenile probation. I am currently a stay at home mom to our 3 young children (ages 4, 2, & 1) and I am always looking to take them on fun adventures. You will often find us at the zoo, on a hike, or at the park. I also love reading, genealogy, thrift shopping, volunteering at church, and spending time with friends. We live on Texas Cir.

Consuelo Williams, Treasurer

I've lived in Tucson and the Peter Howell neighborhood for over 29 years. Our neighborhood is full of wonderful scenery and beautiful creatures of nature from the smallest cacti to the occasional coyote out for a stroll. Peter Howell also has caring neighbors that love this neighborhood as much as I do. I've been a Neighborhood Association board member for a few years because the neighborhood is important to me. I'm entering my second year as Treasurer. I look forward to meeting more of my neighbors. I live on Holmes St.

Susy Oviedo

Susy Oviedo is a graphic designer, creative consultant, and a maker. She has proudly served on the Peter Howell Neighborhood Association board for two years now, going on three years, and has accepted the office of Secretary on the board for the 2017-2018 year. Her interests include caring for her 4-year-old, gardening, baking, sewing, knitting, pottery, painting, (anything artistic, really), drinking wine, having political discussions, and working on her creative business making all sorts of sustainable products (currently she makes her own beeswax food wrap to be used instead of plastic wrap). You’ll see her always with her young son in tow! Susy and her family live on Texas Circle.

Russ Eley

My family moved to Tucson from Memphis, TN in 1956. I was in the USAF at the time, completing a 3 year ROTC commitment after graduating from the Auburn University School of Architecture. I worked as an architect for several local firms while Molly, my wife, worked in retail display.

We moved to the Peter Howell neighborhood in 1963. We raised four kid here. I served as City Architect for the City of Tucson from 1963 to 1993. I am retired from active practice after over 40 years as an architect.

Molly died in 2014. I continue to reside at our home on North Bryant Ave. I joined the PHNA Board in 2016. I love our neighborhood.

Patricia Martin

I have a bachelors degree in industrial engineering with a specialization in finance and marketing. My background includes marketing and product management as well as experience as a financial advisor and trader. In 2003 I got my Real Estate license and I have been a Realtor for over 10 years during which I have been representing a wide variety of clients, whether the transaction involves an entry-level condominium, multi-units, a high-end home or a 1031 exchange. I hold both California and Arizona Real Estate licenses and I belong to the National Association of Realtors as well as the California, Arizona and Tucson associations.

We fell in love with this neighborhood, the architecture, the pride of ownership and the location in the heart of Tucson. All those things make our neighborhood a very special place. I want to help to build a close and warm community and to make our neighborhood one of the most desirable places to live in Tucson. I live on E. 6th St. in Poets Corner.

Karol Scott

Peter Howell Neighborhood has been our full time home for the last 7 years. Prior to that we vacationed here visiting my mother-in -law for 32 years. This is where my husband, Neil, grew up before enlisting and later becoming a Navy Intelligence Officer. You could say it’s our neighborhood of heart.

I have a Masters Degree in Business Organizational Management. My career varied from a soda jerk and sales clerk to an accounts payable clerk, supply clerk for the Air Force, to a regional geographer for the Census, to a hydrographic surveyor and nautical cartographer, to the Naval Facilities cartographer/GIS specialist and a Navy Intelligence Analyst. I am retired with 22 years service from the Navy and with 33 years federal service. I have also done some facilities consulting since. I also have a small in home business, Mrs Sew ‘n Soap, making soaps and doing machine embroidery and heirloom sewing. I am actively involved in Beta Sigma Phi, a women’s cultural, social and philanthropic organization, both with a local chapter and Tucson City Council.

My hobbies include reading, sewing, and most handcrafts. I have two sons, one daughter (deceased), five grand children and two great grandchildren. We live on 4th Street just four houses from the park.

Nancy Huff

Originally from St. Louis, I have lived in my house on 1st St. in the Peter Howell neighborhood since 1974. I have been involved with the PHNA since it began and have been on the board and served as president in the past. I was also the co-chair of the Broadway/Alvernon Area Plan in the late 1990's.

Being interested in travel and photography, I worked at Jones Photo years ago and am now retired from the University of Arizona. My last position there was as Assistant Registrar at the College of Medicine. I volunteer at PH elementary, at the Loft Cinema, and am on CPARB, the Community Police Advisory Review Board, a board that Steve Kozachik appointed me to. A group of us do weekly neighborhood clean up and we won an award from Tucson Clean and Beautiful. As many neighbors know, I also am pretty aggressive with reporting Code Enforcement violations and reporting graffiti. This is our neighborhood, and we should be proud of it and take care of it.

Jason Katterhenry

Jason Katterhenry is a 2nd generation Arizonan, and has lived in Peter Howell for 10 years.  He came to Tucson in 2001 to attend the University of Arizona where he received a B.S. in Computer Engineering, and continues to work on campus doing IT and web work.  He lives on E. 4th St (formerly Crescent Ridge!) with his wife and young daughter.
